TEAM SHATASHVA 2013
SAE INDIA UVPCE
Objective
of Competition:
The objective of the competition is to provide SAE student members with a challenging project that involves design, engineering, planning, manufacturing and marketing the tasks found, when introducing a new product to the consumer industrial market. Teams compete against one another to have their design accepted for manufacture by a fictitious firm. Students must function as a team not only to design, build, test, promote, and run a vehicle within the limits of the rules, but also to generate financial support for their project and manage their educational priorities.
Each team's goal is to design and build a prototype of a rugged single seat, off-road recreational four-wheel vehicle intended for sale to the non-professional, negotiate rough terrain in all types of weather without damage. Weekend off-road enthusiast. The competition goals include that the vehicle must be safe, easily transported, easily maintained and fun to drive.
Team Formation:
Our College has an active SAE India UVPCE Collegiate Club with 129 members under its wing. The team was formed after taking the aptitude test and 35 members were shortlisted for the personal interview, of which 22 members had been finally named under Team SHATASHVA. As per BAJA a team should comprises of maximum 25 members. The team was finally registered on 9th May, 2012.
Virtual BAJA 2013.
The competition is bifurcated into Virtual round and Final Event. The virtual round was organized at Banglore Institute of Technology, Banglore on 24th -25th of August, 2012. 276 teams participated from all over India. Respective design heads from all the departments represented the team at Banglore.
Results of Virtual Round
The results were announced on 13th September, 2012 and our college was one of the 120 teams clearing the virtual out of 276 teams participated all over the India.From Gujarat, six teams clearing the virtual round are : U. V. Patel College of Engg., Institute of Tech. Nirma University, PDPU Gandhinagar, Universal College of Engg. Gandhinagar, Indus Institute of Technology Ahmedabad & Marwadi Institute of Tech. Rajkot.
