TEAM SHATASHVA 2014-15
Team
SHATASHVA comprising of 23 students selected from SAEINDIA UVPCE
COLLEGIATE CLUB under the guidance of Faculty advisors Dr. B. P. Patel,
Prof. H. A. Patel and Prof. Ankit P Ahuja. The team name “SHATASHVA” is derived from Sanskrit word “SHAT” means “100” and “ASHVA” means “HORSE” which together means “THE POWER OF 100 HORSES”.
As every year team registered itself for the Virtual round. But this time the competition became tough as 323 teams from all over India registered themselves and also 10 teams registered from other countries in virtual. Virtual rounds for Baja SAEINDIA 2015 were held on 1st and 2nd August, 2014 at Gujarat Technology University (GTU), Chandkheda campus, Ahmedabad. During the Virtual Round team gave their first priority to e-Baja event since team wanted to move a step forward in the field Mobility engineering. Virtual round results for eBAJA were declared on 20th September, 2014 and Team Shatashva was one of those 13 teams which were selected for eBAJA 2015 event and other 110 teams were selected for conventional Baja out of 323 teams.

eBAJA: THE CONCEPT.
BAJA SAEINDIA has launched the e-Baja (electric Baja) competition this year by initiative of our ex – President Dr. A. P. J. ABDUL KALAM;
this event is aiming towards the research and development in
non-conventional transport technology by young engineers for betterment
of society. Baja SAEINDIA has rolled out eBAJA series for the first time, to leverage the onset of Electrical Mobility in India. The eBAJA
vehicles run on electricity and may be recharged by solar power. They
are propelled by an electric motor powered by rechargeable battery
packs.
Team started manufacturing the e – vehicle according to the rules of eBAJA SAEINDIA Rulebook 2015. The transmission kit for the e – vehicle was provided by Mahindra Reva.

SAE eBAJA 2015 Achievements:
eBAJA
event took place together with the conventional Baja event. Both the
events took place at NATRAX, NATRIP facility, Pithampur, Indore from 19th to 22th February, 2015.
Team performed best at the event. Team came up with:-- Overall Ranked 1st in India in eBAJA event.
- Received the “BEST eBAJA TEAM AWARD” with a Price money of Rs - 1,00,000/-
- Scored 2nd in India in Design Evaluation in eBAJA
- Secured 3rd in India and 1st position in Gujarat in Endurance event.
